Will I get a better price booking in advance or waiting last minute?

Each hotel will amend its rates regularly. Pricing strategies vary based on supply and demand at each hotel and occupancy levels at that destination. The team at whynotbook is on a mission to find you the best prices so if you are booking a popular hotel in a peak period then we recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.

Most hotels offer advance purchase discounts and special offers to book early, plus you will have more availability and room types to choose from. The best prices are available for a limited time only so look out for short term promotional offers and don't hesitate to book as room stock is limited. In some cases, only one room will be available at the cheapest price.

As hotels try to fill their last available rooms, rates may significantly drop at some hotels desperate for your business. Is it cheaper if I book direct with the hotel?

There are contracts in place to ensure whynotbook offers the same publicly available rates found directly on the hotels website. In some cases whynotbook will have exclusive rates not found on other websites. We make it easy to search, compare and book hotels around the world on our secure website.

There is a chance I may not check in on time or miss the first night of my reservation, do I need to advise anyone?

Your reservation will be held for the dates indicated on the confirmation email provided you turn up for the first night. If you fail to arrive for the first night it is a requirement that you contact the hotel or our customer service team to ensure your booking is still being held.

Is early check-in or late check-out available?

Check in and check out times can vary by hotel, for further details please check the hotel page and your confirmation email. Requests for early check in can be made but only guaranteed by the hotel, and usually on the day of arrival. Once at your hotel, late check-out can generally be arranged directly with the hotel, sometimes for a fee. Hotels will try and accommodate your requests but the only way to guarantee an early check in is to purchase an additional night. Most hotels will be happy to store your luggage if you choose not to purchase an additional night.

How secure is your website? Is my Credit Card and personal information safe?

Whynotbook uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to protect and encrypt your credit card details and personal information. Please refer to our privacy policy for further information.

Can I pay in cash if I don’t have a credit or debit card?

Unfortunately we are unable to accept cash to secure your reservation. Your hotel reservation can only be confirmed once full pre-payment with debit or credit card is received. The booking page will identify the list of credit and debit cards we accept. Some hotels allow us to confirm your reservation with a deposit using your debit or credit card. In this circumstance you may be able to pay cash directly with hotel upon check out.

How will I know if my reservation has been confirmed?

Upon entering your credit card details and submitting your reservation, you will see a confirmation number and receive a confirmation email containing links to a voucher that you are required to print and give to the hotel when you check in.

I have confirmed a booking, when will my credit card or debit card be charged?

Your debit or credit card will be charged immediately and a confirmation email will be sent after the payment has been processed. Although payment is taken immediately, in some cases the charge may not appear on your statement for up to 10 working days.

Do I need to provide a security deposit when I check into the hotel?

Many hotels will require you to check in with a valid credit card and may take pre authorisation as a security deposit.

I received my confirmation voucher however the hotel does not have my reservation, who should I contact?

If you have a confirmation voucher then your room is guaranteed. If the hotel front desk cannot resolve the issue, please contact our customer service team immediately.

Do you charge a booking fee?

Whynotbook does not charge any booking fees.

If I submit a question, how long will it take to get a response?

Our team aims to respond to all enquiries within one business day.

I cannot find availability for the dates I have selected, what can I do?

If you can't find availability for the hotel you're looking at then it may be sold out on one of the dates you have selected, or may require a minimum length of stay during that date range. Availability at hotels is constantly changing and special offers sell out quickly. Try refreshing your screen and start the search again to return live results. Alternatively, expand you booking criteria or widen your destination selection to return more results.

How far in advance can I make a booking?

Hotels control the rates and inventory on the website which are generally made available 365 days in advance.

Can I confirm a booking on the same day I arrive?

Yes, you can confirm a reservation on the same day providing there is availability.

I have confirmed my reservation, can I make a special request or confirm specific bedding configuration?

Hotels will try and accommodate all reasonable requests, subject to availability. The hotel contact details are located on the confirmation email and requests can only be guaranteed on the day of check in. Should you need assistance with a specific request, please contact our customer service team.

Can I request an extra bed or a cot in the room for my child?

Some room types do not allow for additional bedding, this will be displayed during the booking process. Some hotels will charge for the use of additional bedding or a cot. If you have already confirmed your reservation we advise you call the hotel to request the extra bed or cot. To confirm availability before you book, please contact our customer service team.

If I need to contact the hotel, where can I get the hotel details?

Direct contact details of the hotel are available on your confirmation voucher.

How do I get from the airport to my hotel, are transfers included?

Airport transfers are not included as part of the reservation unless specified at time of booking. Airport transfers are generally available upon arrival to the airport. Please contact the hotel or the airport to arrange prior to arrival.

Can I request the room in the photograph on the website?

The hotel only provides a small sample of photographs and room types vary so unfortunately we cannot guarantee you will get the room featured in the photograph.

Do you include taxes in the rate?

Whynotbook believes in transparency and includes all taxes and charges in the room rate. A small number of hotels globally will require a service fee or resort fee to be paid on check out. In this circumstance the specific fee to be settled directly with the hotel will be specified on your final itinerary.

Do you include breakfast in the rate?

Breakfast rates are available and displayed at some hotels however breakfast is not included in the room rate unless specified.

What breakfast options are available at my hotel?

If your reservation does include breakfast, your confirmation voucher should identify whether it is Continental, Buffet or Full English is included. If this information is not available on your itinerary, please contact the hotel directly.

I have already confirmed my reservation, can I add breakfast?

Check your confirmation voucher to ensure breakfast is not already included. If breakfast is not included, you can arrange this directly with the hotel upon check in. You will need to pay the hotel directly if it is not already included in your reservation.

Do you include car parking in the rate?

Some hotels will offer free car parking as an inclusion or a promotion, however car parking is not included in the room rate unless specified. This can be arranged directly with the hotel, please refer to your confirmation email for hotel contact details.

Is there any difference between a twin and a double room?

A double room has one bed whereas a twin is two separate single beds. King, queen and double bedding configurations will be identified on the website and will vary by room type and cost.

I am travelling to another country, do I need a Visa?

Please contact the consulate of the country you are travelling to prior to departure. It is your responsibility to ensure passport and visa documentation is in order before you travel.
